Mayo Bovisa is the process through
which TBVS acquires new power suggesting a potential local and cultural
identity for the future. As a matter of fact, there is a growing need
to understand art and to make others understand it, to experience
creative moments and the debate entailed by themes and problems that
torment contemporary artists. As far as Junk Building is concerned, its
very topical theme (i.e. the concept of waste, debris and rejection in
all its meanings and forms, which range from natural to social) has
promoted and resulted in a series of works, representations and
potential perspectives on the world thanks to the effort of its artists.
Junkbuilding is based on ideas such as construction and cohabitation, the possibility to restore the role of art which, albeit not final, may be illuminating. Against this background, the traditional organisation of the exhibition, based on the juxtaposition of completed works, is replaced by a happening preceding the inauguration. The works exhibited loose part of their usual objectivity by finding their definition through constant changes and adjustments.
