Drago – Street art publisher

I Mutanti is the exhibition catalog for the Villa Medici exhibition of the same title. The catalog is made up of five volumes that correspond to the five artists participating in the show.
This five-volume catalog represents the work of the some most controversial and thought-provoking artists of the 21st century.
Each fifty-six-page volume can be acquired individually or together as the full collection. Each book includes a montage of over 25 full color images prepared by the respective artist and texts in three languages (French, Italian, and English) by Villa Medici director, Eric de Chassey.

Ellen Gallagher was born in Providence, Rhode Island and currently lives and works between New York and Rotterdam, Holland. Repetition, revision, and repurposing are essential to Gallagher’s work and the creation of narratives in her paintings.
The characters that she appropriates from commercial advertisements and their visual language are reconfigured and redefined by Gallagher’s special manipulation and personal iconography, which produces work that produces a visual map of modern cultural hybridism.
