"About 10 days ago I was walking home in Pigneto when I spotted it on the wall — the Roman "invasion" has begun. After years of crossing the globe, Space Invader finally brought his mosaic street installations to Rome. I've been fascinated by his stuff since I first saw it in Paris and made it my mission to track down and photograph as much as I could of the Roman works. Some bastard foiled my plans to shoot one in Piazza Vittorio, as less than a week after it went up, it was ripped down. Fortunately most of the others have had better luck and are spread out all over the city, from Trastevere to Pigneto. Invader will be back in October for a show at MACRO, part of the Living Layers series organized by Associazione Wunderkammern. Until then, you'll find me out in the city, camera in hand, looking out for the next Invader that I see....."
