Drago – Street art publisher

From 22 October 2011 to 22 January 2012, B.P.S.22, (provincial Solvay building) the Space for Contemporary of the Visual Arts sector of the Province of Hainaut, in Charleroi, Belgium  will present the exhibition EUROPUNK, the visual culture of punk, 1976-80 trying to focus on the wealth of punk culture in Europe in the second half of the 1970s, showing the revolutionary change of imagery created by graphic designers, illustrators, image makers and agitators. It doesn’t want to tell once more the story of the musical influences of this movement that has surprised and shocked millions of young people, but to show the works of those artists who, while strongly denying they were making art, did want their images to change the world.

Une exposition itinérante réalisée par l’Académie de France à Rome - Villa Médicis, présentée au B.P.S.22 espace de création contemporaine de la Province de Hainaut, avec le soutien du Ministère de la Culture de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, de la Province de Hainaut et de la Ville de Charleroi. En collaboration avec la Médiathèque de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, la régionale PAC Charleroi et la Brasserie Duvel-Moortgat.
